What information we collect

When you contact us, request a free audit, apply for a role, or ask to join our expert network, we may collect information you choose to provide, including your name, email address, message, business information, professional background and any other information you submit.

When you use the website, WordPress.com and Jetpack may also process technical information needed to host, secure and operate the site, such as IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring URLs, approximate location and timestamps.

Why we use your information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries; assess requests for a free audit; discuss possible client engagements; review role or expert-network applications; manage our business relationships; operate, secure and improve the website; keep appropriate business records; and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

Our lawful bases

Depending on the circumstances, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract; our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, developing our business, recruiting suitable people and operating a secure website; compliance with legal obligations; and consent where the law requires it, including for certain non-essential cookies or marketing activities.

Who we share information with

We may share information with service providers that help us run the website and our business, including WordPress.com, Automattic and Jetpack services used for hosting, forms, security and site statistics. We may also share information with professional advisers, contractors or specialist partners where needed for an enquiry or engagement, and with regulators, courts or public authorities where required by law.

We do not sell personal information.

International transfers

Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we expect our providers to use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism, such as an applicable adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguards where required.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. As a general guide, we normally keep general enquiries for up to 24 months; unsuccessful role or expert-network applications for up to 12 months unless there is a reason or agreement to keep them longer; and client, contract and business records for up to 6 years after the relevant relationship ends where needed for legal, tax or accounting purposes.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to certain processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

We do not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about website visitors or people who contact us.
